How do I join a race?
To join a race, you'll need a unique 6-character invite code provided by your team captain. Enter this code on the "Join Race" screen to sync with your team.
Can I use the app offline?
Yes! Baton is built with offline support. If you lose signal during a race, your timing data is saved locally and will automatically sync with your team as soon as you're back online. First one to post the handoff time sets it once everyone returns online.
How do I create a race team from a template?
You can use a "Named Race" as a template for your team. From the Templates tab, select a race (like "Hood to Coast") and tap "Create Team." This automatically sets up all the legs and distances for you, so you can focus on assigning runners.
How do I track a handoff?
Use the "Witness Baton Pass" button on the Live Timing screen to claim the handoff. This makes you the sole handoff witness and locks others out. Click the "Pass Baton" button to record the handoff. This records the exact moment the baton passes from one runner to the next, updating the projected finish time for the whole team.
How do I delete my data?
You can delete your profile and all associated data directly in the app. Go to the Profile screen and look for the "Delete Account" button in the Danger Zone. Alternatively, email us and we can handle it for you.
How do I create my own race template?
Race templates (Named Races) allow you to pre-define all legs, distances, and elevation data for a specific event. This feature is reserved for Organizers to ensure high-quality templates for the community.
